I bought paint to update the studio last week. And was immediately gripped with the realization that I could NOT start on the studio update when I so desperately needed to finish getting our tax information together to take to our accountant. Sigh.
So I finally dug in and embraced the whole thing like I should have in the first place, and guess what I found?
It’s not so bad. It’s actually even a bit more exciting than should be legally possible for something like that. Running the numbers. Gathering the data. Checking on things like profit margins, costs, and such. Especially when it reinforces that you’re doing what you set out to do.
On another note, I was super glad that I had finished everything up yesterday, because when I opened my emails this morning, my welcome message was waiting for the latest course I’m enrolled in. It’s specifically on surface pattern design, so you may be seeing peeks at more of my art, sketches, and drawings here in the very near future. This is me taking one step in the direction to realize a BIG dream that I’ve had for a long, long time. Because this year for me isn’t just about dreaming big, it’s about setting goals and taking actions to make the big dreams happen. It’s about writing a solid business plan and setting goals and making things happen. It’s about riding the wave of uncertainty that comes from taking those actions because that’s what makes life exciting.
So. Today is about dropping off the tax info, shipping a couple of orders, and then cleaning and getting ready to finally get the studio space painted.
