Amy Kingsford is a wife, mother and passionate virtual assistant who helps creative entrepreneurs carry out the everyday tasks of running their online businesses at amykingsfordva.com. When Amy isn’t helping awesome lady bosses save time and focus on their passion, she can be found supporting her two boys in school, scouts or whatever sports they happen to be involved in; traveling the country visiting National Parks and Monuments; or documenting her family adventures as an avid photographer and memory keeper.
What kind of photography do you specialize in or use for your business?
I find myself focusing mostly on landscape and documentary-style photography. Every now and again I’ll take photos for family and friends, but mostly I enjoy recording my family’s story and sharing that story in my scrapbooking and on social media.
Where are you located and how does your location influence your photography?
I’m located in Northern Utah and have lived here all my life. Quite honestly, I can’t imagine living anywhere else.
The diverse landscapes here have been a huge catalyst for my photography and have influenced everything from my photographic style to my business’ branding. They’ve even spurred a budding interest in time-lapse photography.
What is your favorite part of the photography process?
Aside from experiencing what is captured thru my lens first-hand, I get the most joy out of recreating that feeling for others in both the editing and storytelling processes.
Whether I choose to tell my story on social media or on the scrapbook page, I like to create a visual story where words and images can come together in a way that allows the viewer to feel as though they were really there or to experience my memories in a fun or creative way.
How would you describe your photography style?
I guess I have what would be considered a dark and moody style, however, I do love playing with light and allowing the rich colors of life come through in my photos.
Aside from your camera what is one of the most useful photography tool(s) you’ve purchased?
I’d have to say Adobe Creative Cloud, between Photoshop and Lightroom I have everything I need to tell my family’s stories on social media and on the scrapbook page in a way that fufills me. PLUS I am able to use many of the other programs to serve my clients, so this purchase was a no brainer for me!
What’s your favorite thing about your bluebird chic strap?
I actually have several styles and I love them all! However, the latest addition to my collection is the Rising Moon Strap. I love the rich colors and fun pattern, as well as the way they pop against almost any backdrop or outfit. I take my straps hiking/backpacking, traveling, to sporting and scouting events, etc. and it’s always a welcome companion. So soft and comfortable that I often forget I’m wearing it, but just stylish enough that I always get asked where I got it!
Thanks for sharing with us today Amy and for supporting the bluebird chic brand!
