How long have you been a photographer?
I’ve been a professional photographer for almost 3 years. This year, I’m teaching with Beyond The Wanderlust as well.
What made you decide to pursue photography?
I started taking pictures 6 years ago, when my daughter was a baby. She was growing up so quickly, I wanted to capture our everyday moments.
How has your photography evolved over the years?
My style has definitely honed in this past year. I’ve really found my groove as a storyteller. I like to tell honest stories of our every day adventures.
What is the best part of being a photographer?
I really love to give back to families who need photos. I spent a few months this year following families through difficult chapters in their lives. Being able to give them photos of such big and important times in their life is the best part of this business.
What impact do you want your business to have on others?
I always hope to inspire parents to take more photos of their daily life. I find such huge value in photos, in documenting those memories and telling those daily stories.
What kind of camera(s) do you own and what role does it play in your life?
I shoot with a Nikon D5 and a Fuji X100F. I love the size and portability of my Fuji, and it’s crazy sharp! My Nikon is my 3rd child. I bring it everywhere.
What’s your favorite thing about your bluebird chic strap?
I love the rich colors–perfect for winter or spring! And I love how wearable it makes my camera! I can carry my heavy Nikon with a Sigma Art lens around all day, and it doesn’t bother me.
