It’s always so amazing to see the work of women who put their heart and soul into their businesses. The things that catch my eye when looking for my ambassadors – women who work hard, are willing to put themselves out there for what they love and believe in, support other women, and are just, well, all around amazing? Every one of the women on the team are all of these and more, and I’m excited to share a bit about brand ambassador and photographer Jamie Diger today!
She shared an amazing story via her instagram the other day about how she took steps for big changes to partner up in her business last year – with fantastic results. That’s what it’s all about. Love it. That’s real life, and that’s what inspires me, when I hear it – so read on, and be inspired!
Jamie is a wife and mother of two living just north of San Francisco in beautiful Marin County. She is a co-owner of Tree Swing Photography and takes great pride in documenting family memories and capturing the beauty of pregnancy. The Tree Swing style is bright, fun and candid, and Jamie’s silliness behind the camera is sure to make even the most serious toddler (or adult!) crack a smile.
How long have you been a photographer?
I’ve been shooting professionally for two years but have been pursuing photography as a hobby on and off since my early teens.
What made you decide to pursue photography?
After my kids were born, I had a renewed interest in photography and some super cute models to help me practice. I spent a few years dreaming of having my own business, and when they started preschool, I was ready to jump in and help families document the same memories and milestones I’d been capturing at home for my family and friends.
How has your photography evolved over the years?
My style and business have evolved quite a bit over the past few years. I started working solo, and then my good friend, Danielle, and I had an idea that we could provide more for our clients by working together. Collaborating with Danielle has made me a better photographer and definitely a more thoughtful and organized business owner. These days I find myself preferring a more candid style for families and a simple, clean look for newborn sessions.
What kind of camera(s) do you own and what role do they play in your life?
I have two digital cameras- a Nikon D810 and a D610. I’ve started shooting film as a hobby, so I also have two film cameras- a Nikkormat FTN and a Nikon F100. They all get used at least once a week! The Nikkormat has the most sentimental value because it’s my Dad’s camera, but they are all important to me and all serve different purposes.
What do you love most about your bluebird chic strap?
Picking a favorite from the Bluebird Chic spring line was next to impossible! In fact I own both the tie-dye indigo and boho stripe styles. I love that these straps compliment my look whether I’m dressed up for an event or in my usual yoga pants and over-sized tee. The designs are gorgeous, but more importantly, these scarf straps are a big upgrade in comfort
You’ll find Jamie sporting the tie-dye indigo scarf camera strap, which compliments her look whether she’s dressed up or down and offers her extra comfort.
And to celebrate Jamie’s sense of style, we’re giving you 20% off of her ambassador pick now thru April 10!
