This week we’re shining a light on ambassador Jeanni Kutz of J Kutz Photography. Read on to find out more about Jeanni, see some of her work, and find out which bluebird chic strap is her personal favorite!
Jeannie, originally born and raised in St. Paul MN, has traveled the country and world searching for a place to call home. She is mom to a crew of 4 littles; 1 boy and 3 girls. After a 7 year career as an early childhood teacher for 7 years, Jeanni is now proud to be working as a full-time mom. The bittersweet emotions of watching her children grow to quickly motivate her to pick up a camera and become a photographer. Photography is her heart’s work and she loves to capture joyful, natural moments. As a lover of natural light, Jeanni strives for fresh and airy images. She also has a deep love for her husband, a strong cup of coffee, the color white, and all things vintage. It is truly her great joy to share her work with you at jkutzphotography.com
How long have you been a photographer?
I have always love being visually creative. I purchased my first DLSR camera in 2003 and in 2006 I began photographing seriously.
What made you decide to pursue photography?
After going though 7 years of infertility, I became obsessed with having my four children photographed often. I could see how fast they were growing and I wanted to make time stand still, even for a just a moment. I love lifestyle photos because they capture the “realness” of my children, however, I struggled to find affordable photographers. My strong belief that every mother deserves beautiful images of their children inspired me to pursue photography more seriously.
What is the best part of being a photographer?
I LOVE/HATE watching my kiddos grow up…and I want to freeze every moment of their lives to treasure in my heart. Insert my love of photography. The best part of being a photographer is serving families by preserving their moments….be it every day ordinary moments, or those larger life changing moments.
What type of camera do you own, and what role does it play in your life?
My primary camera body is a Nikon d750. I also shoot on a Nikon d7200. The main lenses in my camera bag are a Tamron 35 f/1.8 and a Tamron 24-70 f/2.8. I love both lenses, however, you will usually find my 35 on my camera. I love the way it handles low light and keeping my backgrounds creamy and dreamy.
What’s your favorite thing about your bluebird chic strap?
I use my camera every single day, so finding the balance between style and function in my camera strap is SO important. I trust Bluebird Chic camera straps make sure that I don’t damage my camera. The way that each strap looks like a scarf gives me the look I want. I love that my Bluebird Chic camera strap gives me peace of mind and also looks great, like a part of my outfit.
