Hi! My name is Samantha, I’m a Tampa Bay FL lifestyle photographer with a passion for family, maternity and newborn portraiture. When I don’t have my camera in my hand you can find me sipping on some wine, stuffing my face with junk food, and laying in bed watching tv! Visit me at my site: http://samanthahaynphotography.com/
What kind of photography do you specialize in or use for your business?
I specialize in Motherhood Photography ( Maternity, Newborn and Family ). Motherhood is something truly special to me, and I really wanted to be able to document each phase of motherhood in a honest way for my clients. I feel like momma’s just don’t realize how amazing, strong, and beautiful they are, so I try my best to make each and every momma see how beautiful she is inside and out.
Where are you located and how does your location influence your photography?
I am located in the Tampa Bay FL area ( more specifically Saint Petersburg ) and I absolutely love it. There is so much beauty and culture everywhere you look. I truly love how diverse, and artistic the Bay Area is There is just so much inspiration right around every corner.
What is your favorite part of the photography process?
This is a 2 part answer for me! Haha! I LOOOOOOVE the moments of actual shooting, getting to laugh with my clients, learn more about them, getting creative and usually dirty or soaked. I also love the process of editing. Transitioning a beautiful moment into a piece of finished art is so amazing and mind blowing to me. We literally have the power to process our images in so many different ways depending upon light, and mood and I truly love it.
How would you describe your photography style?
My photography style is emotive. I really don’t like to classify myself as a dark and moody, or light and airy photographer. Sometimes I can be both and it truly depends on the emotion I want to showcase or even the moment. I do however shoot for the emotion and the moment. Editing wise I would probably fall more under the dark and moody side, with a pop of color.
How do you go out of your way for your clients?
I go out of my way for my clients by offering them a more personable experience from start to finish. From choosing client wardrobe ( and offering it ) to helping my clients choose the perfect products to archive their family history forever. I want my clients to have physical memories to pass down for generations. It’s so important to properly archive images, and I’m here to help accomplish that.
What’s your favorite thing about your bluebird chic strap?
Honestly, BlueBird Chic straps are literal heaven. Not only are they beautiful but they are extremely comfortable. I have several of them that I switch between but my favorite is probably my black chiffon strap. It is perfect for weddings, and it’s so breathable which is very important here in Florida where things are HAWT. You cannot go wrong with ANY of the straps. They are made extremely well, and did I mention they are washable!?!?!?! Yup! This is so important for me as I find myself shooting in the ocean often! I rememberi splurged on a very expensivescarf strap from a very well known company and was extremely disappointed with how quickly it fell apart. My bluebird straps have been beat up, washed, and god knows what else and they still look perfect.
