Hi! My name is Samantha, I’m a Tampa Bay FL lifestyle photographer with a passion for family, maternity and newborn portraiture. When I don’t have my camera in my hand you can find me sipping on some wine, stuffing my face with junk food, and laying in bed watching tv! Visit me at my site: http://samanthahaynphotography.com/
How long have you been a photographer?
I started my blissful photography journey back in 2012, and it has been the best journey thus far! Photography truly is a huge part of who I am as a person. Photography has allowed me to express myself in every aspect of my life in a way that has been so beyond therapeutic through the good times and the bad.
What is the best part of being a photographer?
The best part for me is getting to document all the different stories. Not one family or child is the same and it’s so intriguing to me. Getting to document the most important milestones in peoples lives is the biggest honor, we are archives, that’s amazing!
What kind of camera(s) do you own and what role does it play in your life?
I own the canon 6d, and shoot with a variety of prime lens ( Sigma art 35, sigma art 50mm, and the canon 85mm 1.8 ) Upgrading to full frame ( from a canon rebel t4i ) in 2014 played a crucial part in my growth as a photographer, really allowing me to explore and push the limits of low light and creativity.
Which of your business achievements are you most proud of and why?
Well I’d be lying if I said I’ve achieved much since becoming a business because I am only within the first few years of being a business I’m still learning and growing in so many ways – but I can say becoming a business taught me a lot about my worth and value.
What advice do you have to other women who are thinking of starting their own businesses?
I would say do your research, learn as much as you can, and be as involved with the whole process as possible! Shifting from an artist to a business women is not easy, you will fall before you will rise but it’s such a rewarding journey!
What’s your favorite thing about your bluebird chic strap?
It’s colorful, bright, floral, and just screams artsy to me! I love the comfort and diverse print.
