This week’s featured scarf camera strap highlights a simple print on a light and airy fabric called double gauze. I learned about this fabric when I attended a fabric tradeshow a few years ago and have been impressed from the beginning! It’s a very light woven fabric that feels really soft – in fact, it’s so light, that manufacturers choose to layer it so that it’s not see through! When you look closely at the fabric, you can see where they plunge a needle into the two layers at regular intervals in a process that reminds me a bit of felting with yarn. The doubled layers make it the perfect weight for your camera strap!

I absolutely love the chic, classic look of this cream and black polka dot print scarf camera strap – such a perfect staple for dressier events when you’re looking to keep a lower profile. Featuring a beautiful print from the Hello Bear collection (inspired by her son, nicknamed Bear) designed by Bonnie Christine of Going Home to Roost. I shared a bit about her and Art Gallery Fabrics in the last feature post, and still feel the same!
It’s always so amazing to see the work of women who put their heart and soul into their businesses, hobbies, and creative endeavors. The things that catch my eye when looking for my ambassadors – women who work hard, are willing to put themselves out there for what they love and believe in, support other women, and are just, well, all around amazing! Every one of the women on the team are all of these and more, and I’m excited to share a bit about brand ambassador Kimi Coopet with you today!
Kimi Coopet is a coffee addict & photographer out of St. Paul, Minnesota. Her company Oh Hello! Photo specializes in family and child photography. Outside of her passion for photography she is a wife and mother to three kids. She loves to craft but isn’t sure she is nailing or failing her Pinterest finds. If she isn’t taking photos or crafting she is indulging in her love of junk food and watching comedies, all while snuggling one of her three dogs.
How long have you been a photographer?
Too long? lol I have been in business for over 10 years but long before that I was a hobbyist. Photography is in my blood.
What made you decide to pursue photography as a career?
As corny as it sounds Photography has been something that I have always loved. My old photos are hilariously bad but I love them. They are a reminder that we all start somewhere.
How has your photography evolved over the years?
It all started with kids & families and a heck of a lot of weddings. For years I shot weddings and realized that as much as I love them, I don’t want to photograph them full time. I dabbled in just about everything over the course of many years. Seniors, boudoir, real estate…you name it and I probably photographed it. My heart just belongs with kids. Toddlers especially. They are probably the best people in the whole world. I went from photographing grownups who care so much about what they look like to toddlers who couldn’t care less if they have boogers all over their face. lol I just love how real, open and honest kids are. That is what I want to photograph and what I love to photograph, real life. However I have always done chalk photography. I will never stop doing that. It’s messy and fun and I get to work with kids.
What kind of camera(s) do you own and what role do they play in your life?
I have 3 cameras but my main camera is a Nikon D3. Shes a beast but really, the camera itself doesn’t matter. It really is all about what you can do with what you have. Magic can be made with any camera and a heck of a lot of magic has been made with mine. It is always with me documenting life. I am currently on year 3 of shooting every single day. It’s crazy to think but it’s incredibly rewarding to look back in a year and see how much life has changed and how much my photography has improved.
What’s your favorite thing about your bluebird chic strap?
I own several straps and by far this one is my favorite. It is so soft. I can’t even tell you just how soft it is!! The colors are stunning. I love the dark blue the color is similar to another Bluebird Chic strap I own but this one has so many other colors. It’s classy yet fun. The thing I love about it is that it goes with my fancy clothes or the clothes I am wearing when I have given up.
This week save 20% on Kimi’s ambassador pick! Offer ends 01/29/17.
Thanks for sharing with us today Kimi and for supporting the bluebird chic brand!
