I know I’m a touch late in the celebrations, but since we love this drink so much and enjoy it year round, I thought I’d still check in with this super easy recipe. We order it at one of our favorite places out, but it’s easy enough to whip up at home, too!
I tried a few different versions of recipes that I found online, and this is the one we settled on as a favorite. The only thing that takes a bit of practice is keeping the two liqueors from mixing as you pour. Here’s what you’ll need:
Baby Guinness Recipe
coffee tequila (we use XO cafe patron)
Irish Cream Liqueur (we use Bailey’s)
a 2 ounce shot glass
Chill the tequila, Irish cream, and the shot glass or glasses by keeping the liqueors in the refrigerator, and placing the glasses the the freezer. Fill the glass 2/3 of the way with the coffee tequila. Using a spoon, pour approximately 1/2 oz. of Irish cream over the back of the spoon to keep the two liquors from mixing. This will float the Irish cream on top to mimic the look of a draft guinness. I sometimes pop the finished glasses into the freezer for a couple of minutes to add a bit of extra chill. Sip to enjoy.
