So many blessings to be thankful for – I’m currently setting up the brine for our traditional Saturday feast. Half of our little family has pretty severe food allergies, so Thanksgiving is about dropping in to see family on the day of, while we prepare a huge feast for Saturday. What’s your can’t miss dish? I definitely must have the turkey in this beautiful brine from Pioneer Woman. When I linked up the post I realized I MAY have actually been making it since she first debuted the recipe in 2010. And her green bean casserole. And her cranberry sauce. Having food allergies, I think we sought out those recipes early. Plus, I was a huge follower of her blog. (Our youngest son has a severe nut allergy – and even though things have gotten so much better now, there was a day when we couldn’t make anything from a box or can. Or buy any baked goods from anywhere.) I was so excited when she posted her thanksgiving recipes because it actually made it easier to me to make a traditional thanksgiving meal for our family.
All of those dishes, plus my recipe for pumpkin swirl cheesecake. Enjoy your feasting – and don’t forget to count your blessings!
