Some of you may have read about last year’s summer escapades of garden starting… Well, let’s just say that didn’t work out so well. It wasn’t that I can’t garden – it was a semantics thing. I need to actually be able to check in on things more than once every two weeks, or they just won’t grow and flourish.
Fast forward to this year. I discovered this little box on wheels at my local hardware store. Liiighttt bulllb…. So we gave it a shot. Lucky for me, my husband is game when I get these ideas. I say that mostly because it involves putting him to work in some way, shape or form – in this case hauling a 50+ pound bag of organic soil up from the car and adding wheels to a box. Yay.
I have finally found a home that my not so little anymore cherry tomato plant can grow! He’s so happy, he’s finally busting with blossoms. For a girl who grew up spending my summers eating fresh produce – there is just no way to express how happy this makes me. I can’t WAIT until they’re ripe and we’re able to enjoy them with our salads.
On a side note – I need to come up with a name for the other plant. The one on the right side is a heat resistant natural hybrid that will give me larger tomatoes. And I also need to purchase a pepper plant one of these days. One thing at a time, right?
