My grandmother had a version of this that she made when I was a child. She happened to use maraschino cherries, which I felt a bit uncomfortable with. {I have a thing about over processed food.} So this summer, when I saw the peaches hit the shelves at my local market, I was feeling a bit nostalgic, and decided to venture to create my own version.
It’s now a family favorite. And I’m pretty sure that I’ll be obligated to make another, much larger, batch next summer! I jotted down some notes as I made it, so that I’ll be able to make it again!
In other news, I’ve been sharing lots of my summer projects on my papercrafting blog – things that had to wait for a while, or that I got too busy to share! Lots of fun stuff for American Crafts, Jenni Bowlin, and Get It Scrapped!
We have started school, and all related activities, so things are a wee bit crazy as we settle back into the routines. But all in all, I’d say it’s a good thing.
