Bluebird Chic ambassador Kim Hoover of Apple of Our Eye Photography shares her ideas for including younger siblings in your back to school photos.
Back to school is upon us, and with that comes the flood of “First Day of School” obligatory pictures from proud parents everywhere. It’s a day to celebrate!
Although sometimes it’s not…
If you are a Kindergarten mom, you know that first day can be nerve-wracking. How many have followed the bus to school? Guilty here.
Been there. Done that. And, that’s ok. But…there’s another group of people we seem to forget to mention on that first day of school. The younger “not quite old enough” for school children.
Quite often for those younger siblings, it’s a pretty tough day for them. I’ve captured that day for a couple of years now, and it’s never without a few tears from the littlest sister.
We’ve found some ways to make her feel included, and we’ve learned a trick or two.
Sometimes it’s just simply letting her wear a backpack and hold a sign.
I’m Kim Hoover. Photographer, wife and mom to 3 little girls who continually inspire me to see life differently. If I’m not lying on the floor or hiding behind furniture capturing their moments, then I’m probably on the lookout for new ideas for capturing others. It’s with each one of these encounters that I get to live my dream and I am so incredibly grateful for that. You can find more of my work here: www.appleofoureye.com
