January is a time for setting goals, getting organized and looking ahead to plans for our days, months and year. I’ve been thinking a lot about my goals for 2017 as I’m sure many of you are.
And while one of those goals is to PLAN LESS and DO MORE this year, I can’t deny the love I have for a good planner.
We thought it would be fun to share the bluebird chic team’s planner picks for 2017.

The Big Picture Planner ($65)
Design Aglow
The Big Picture Planner from Design Aglow is what I went with this year, and so far I am loving it! It’s great for a procrastinator like myself (you fill in all dates/days, so it doesn’t have to start at the first of the year if you don’t want to). It pretty much lays everything out for you, and gives you guidance for planning out your yearly, quarterly, monthly, weekly and daily goals. For someone like me who needs everything written down, this is huge. It made me think about what I want for my business this year, and how I’m going to get there. Having it in writing is a big motivator for me. I’m also the type of person who needs lists that I can check off in order to feel like I accomplished something. I need help staying on task. So far the Big Picture Planner has done a great job of that, and I hope it will help me continue to stay organized for the rest of the year.

Sugar Paper’s Blush Weekly Planner ($11)
Target
Let’s just say this… I am ADDICTED to planners. While I usually stick to one a year (ok, sometimes two, haha), I have spent quite a bit of money trying to find the perfect one. This year, I was sweetly surprised when I came across Sugar Paper’s (Target brand) planner. I picked it up at Target for $10.99 and bought the activity stickers for an additional $2.99. Not a bad deal at all! It is well made, sturdy, the front/back cover is easy to wipe clean (you might not take that into consideration but with 5 children, I do, haha!), and it fits in my purse. The best part? There is lots of room to write despite the fact that it isn’t too big. Some of the reminder stickers also come blank, which is great for me as I use them to write in my client session dates. All in all, the Sugar Paper planner is one SWEET deal!

DIY Planner
Currently I am in a personal size ring planner from Michael’s. I say currently because my planners change all the time. I’m a planner girl at heart. I seem to always go back to the rings, it feels like home. I love that I can easily add new sections and move things around. I’m using printable inserts from Annie Plans Printables on Etsy for my weekly planning and Cocoa Daisy daily pages for my task lists. This planner keeps me organized and I love using my creative side to decorate my pages.

Sugar Paper’s Blush Weekly Planner ($15)
Target
I can’t believe it’s already full steam into 2017, and actually haven’t updated my personal/family planner yet! Yikes! Though it is kind of a quiet month for us, since we’re in between activities for the guys. The current 2017 planner is reserved just for keeping up with business related items like social media planning, deadlines, new product launches, etc. The thing I love most about my planners: space. I’ve settled on this size planner because gives me one page for the month where I can see a big picture view, and then breaks my weeks into a vertical line up on the left with a space for to-do lists/notes/remember on the right. I need lots of space, because when things get cluttered and crowded, I start to feel overwhelmed and have to fight the tendency to just shut down. If I have plenty of space, I feel like I can make things work and it keeps me positive no matter how busy I get!

The Get to Workbook ($55)
Elise Joy
I love the Get to Workbook because the design of the planner doesn’t get in the way of actually planning. I love the minimalist black and white aesthetic. It gives me more room to plan and more room to add some fun embellishments. I also love the different spaces on the Get to Workbook spread. It makes it easy to plan out my life and simultaneously keep notes and ideas for future projects in one place.
