The summer heat is upon us full force here in South Florida – so we spend most of our time either hiding from it, doing water related activities, or attempting to keep hydrated while in the midst of it. This will do none of those things, but it sure is refreshing!! I know – I promised the coffee sorbet recipe, but I forgot the leftovers at the party, so I can’t photograph it. I hope you’ll accept this one in the mean time – and I promise, I will post it next week!
This is absolutely heavenly. I have to start out by saying that I adapted this recipe from this one that Jess Mutty shared with me! As much as I love oranges, peaches are much more in season this time of year – and I can’t resist just about anything peach related, like this peach cherry jam I made last summer! On with the recipe!
Peach Sangria Sorbet
8 T. water
1-1/2 cups sugar
Combine in a 2 cup glass measuring cup or microwave safe bowl. Whish together and microwave on normal settings for about a minute. You want the edges to bubble and the sugar to dissolve. Cool completely. You’ve actually just made a really easy simple syrup.
2-2/3 cup real peach juice {I used a brand called Looza that I found at Whole Foods and was real peach puree, water, etc.}
2 c. red moscato wine {I love barefoot brand}
2 lrg shots of Absolut peach vodka
1/4 cup lime juice
1 peeled, diced peach
Once your simple syrup has completely cooled, add the rest of the ingredients listed, stir well, and chill – preferably over night. I made the mistake of not cooling this long enough the first time that I churned it, and because of the alcohol content, it came out the consistency of a slushy. Oops. Still tasted fabulous, though!
Churn according to your ice cream maker’s instructions, and store in an air tight container in the freezer. Garnish with peach and lime slices.
Happy sipping!
It looks amazing, Leah! And what a gorgeous color. I NEED some!
This looks Amazing! Also tuning it next week for that coffee one!!!
This is amazing & just what I was looking for. Peach is one of my favorites & I’ve just been making ice pops instead of sorbet, when my real love is sorbet! Wonderful recipe. I’ll have to try this out soon.
Thank you so much, Tiff! This is seriously a summer favorite in our home! Hope you enjoy it!
