So after everything I mentioned previously, our wireless router and modem kicked the bucket. Seriously. I’m laughing over here. Because the odds seem really loooong. And when lots of bad things pile up, you can choose to either cry, or, well,
LAUGH.
Either from the sheer ludicrousy of the situation, or maybe with a slight maniacal edge to it all. Either way, it’s still better than crying, right?
I’m happy to say that we’ve regained internet access, and all is now right with the world. Amen. This could be a much longer story, involving two trips to the store – when I opened the box and discovered that I didn’t need a new ROUTER, but a combination modem and router. Yes. That’s me. Making a second trip to exchange things. Good thing they know me at the local staples. And of course things are never, ever a plug and play deal, are they. Who knows their isp username and password when they’ve had dsl for over ten years? Oy. At least I’m just organized enough to keep the scraps of information around that we actually use every once in a while. In addition to a crapload of stuff that we don’t. But I AM in the process of changing that and clearing lots of stuff out. I’ve never had piles. Mostly just bags stuffed in corners of closets. Did I just say that? And I digress.
The weekend was filled with lots of laughs, and family time. Good food. Board games like yahtzee jr and apples to apples. We mostly stayed off of the internet. Well, it WAS broken except for mobile devices. And that was ok.
We got our family mobile again with a new vehicle. And took a family selfie on our first ride. So worth it. This was my husband’s first weekend hanging out with the family in a while. And it was great. We’re even better when we’re all together.
So here’s to Mondays. And new beginnings. And fresh starts. And having everything working again. Awesome. It can only get better from here, right? We’ll keep repeating that for now!
