I want you to fall in love with your camera strap – not as just a necessity, but as something that makes you feel happy, stylish, comfortable, and secure. It started with just wanting to feel the same myself – and after exploring the options out there, I never quite found the right fit for me. I wanted something stylish, comfortable, AND dependable. I didn’t want to sacrifice durability for comfort and style.
So, I got to work. Researching, learning, and putting the skills I already had with sewing and pattern design to use. Along the journey, I’ve learned about leather working, supplier sourcing, fabric manufacturers, and the best ways to grow and market my business. Now your get to experience that love, too!
A peek behind the scenes at some of the work that goes into creating STRONG camera straps that you can depend on! I had to learn about leather working, glues, sewing, sealants and sourcing when I started making bluebird chic camera straps. It’s one of the things that makes me most proud of them! They’re not just stylish, they’re STRONG & DEPENDABLE!
A little bit about me and my family: We live in the South Florida metropolitan area just north of the city of Miami. I homeschool our boys using online courses, and my husband is an electrical engineer in the telecommunications field. ❤
He helps keep me from being too serious all the time. And when we’re not working, we’re usually hanging together grilling – maybe a favorite like fish tacos – and sipping a cocktail. We love basketball, running, reading, and the arts in all forms. It’s hard to believe we’ve been together for 17 years already!
All of our camera straps are handcrafted in our home studio space by me. Bolts of fabric stacked high, cut, pressed, stitched and sewn, leather cut and glued and stitched. I love every part of the process and take pride in creating a product just for you that you’ll love and depend on.
Have I mentioned how much I love helping to empower other women in their work and life? I have a growing library of classes on Skillshare where I share what I’ve learned to help you start and grow your own handmade business
Feel free to get in touch with any questions you may have through our contact button above! As of right now, I’m currently updating information here to make policies, shipping, wholesale line sheets, etc. helpful and easy to read, but your questions help me do that!
You can find the camera straps that I make and sell in our online shop hosted through shopify, etsy shop, and on Amazon Handmade, but Bluebird Chic is growing to be so much more. My hope is that it’s becoming a place for inspiration and community for women that revolves around creativity and connection.
