Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about gratitude. How much a simple expression of “thank you” can really make my day as I go about my tasks. As I thought about how much I miss being told that by others, I began to turn my focus inward and ask myself how often I step out and take on the task of expressing my gratitude toward others. Because really, life isn’t all about me. As I thought about it, I realized that I needed to add more of this to my life.
See, the funny thing about gratitude. The more you express it, the more you realize that you’re truly blessed. I mean really. When you start thinking about going out of your way to let someone else know that what they’re doing is worth something – it changes your heart.
So, where is this going? I’ve decided to challenge myself to send one hundred thank you notes in the coming year. They can be store bought or handmade. They can be a simple note with just a couple of sentences, or a longer letter detailing just how much I appreciate them. But I’m setting aside the time to let others know that what they do is worthwhile.
I’d love to have you join me!
This is just a fabulous idea! I always have great intentions of sitting down to write thank you letters or just letters period and let the excuse of a “busy life” get in the way.
I’ll join in the challenge. I don’t know if I can hit 100, but I sure will try 🙂
Now, what’s your addy so I can send you a thank you card for this brilliant idea? 😉
