Looking for more ideas to start your own goal journal this year?
Bluebird Chic ambassador Addy, from Chic Planner Girl has got you covered!
I love setting goals for myself and actually writing them out as I feel like the chances for me to accomplish them are much greater this way. I have set many goals through my life however what I have found works for me is writing it down and connecting to it. Goal planning in my planners has been an amazing way to break it down by year, month and day.
There is no right or wrong way to write down your goals. However, there are many different inspiring ways to do so.
You can use anything from a plain notebook to a spiral planner, ring bound planners and travelers journals.
This year I am using a traveler’s journal to track all of my goals and achievements. I love looking back and using it as a memory keeping mechanism as well.
Right now I am using a Prima Travelers Journal and used Frank Garcia’s Love Story Collection to set it all up and inspire me to create a journal I love.
Here you can see I love decorating my pockets to inspire me and include many ephemera elements that bring more joy to me.
I love adding pictures through my journal to remind me of what I’m focusing on and why I have the goals I have.
Each year I pick a word to focus on and I start my goal journal by writing it down to remind my self. This year I choose the word “Challenge” and I change my self to grow, be better as a friend a mom and to truly follow what I love to do! We some times forget this by the middle of the year so its nice to look back and remind your self what you wanted to focus on this year and what you want to change.
As the year goes on I like to add goals to my notebook whether it be a specific event I want to target like my sisters wedding this year. I like to add and focus on goals for my fitness and health, to work and home goals to small weekly goals on getting everything on my to do list done.
If you have never had a goal journal I encourage you to try it because it will force you to focus on what you want to accomplish and have clarity on what you want to achieve.
Goal journals will motivate you to take action and give you inspiration to use your imagination and creativity if you decided to use additional elements like I am using.
Just remember there is no right or wrong answer to journaling your goals, just have fun and stay consistent with following the steps you’ve set to achieve those goals.
