I’ll be honest – with the holidays fast approaching, I’m already adding strings of lights and touches of greenery here and there around our home because, well, I just love the season. From Halloween on, I find ways to add little things around the home to remind us that it’s a special time of year when we have lots of fun little things to celebrate and be involved in.
It hasn’t always been that way the last few years, though. As a new business owner adjusting to that holiday rush as my business grew, the struggle was REAL. Those moments of exhaustion, long hours, late nights, and sometimes forgetting the eggnog were reality. I’m still pretty much a one woman show for production, with the family chipping in for high volume and short deadlines. But, you know what? I have loved every bit of it.
I love being a part of that special gift giving holiday that you share with family and friends. That moment when you can give or receive that perfect gift – priceless. My family has a huge tradition of giving every year from when I was small. We make an art out of finding out what other people secretly want so that we can surprise them with everything from tiny stocking stuffers to bigger items that we’ll conspire with others to split costs on so we can make it happen for them.
I’m happy to report that over time I’ve adjusted to the added bustle due to having a small business, become more organized, found ways to prepare and work ahead – so that I can both be a part of your special holiday, and my own family’s.
