camera straps, photography inspiration

how you spell work relief & a studio space update

March 7, 2014

I thought I had already reached my limit with the technology googoo when it became impossible for me to print labels again yesterday. The final straw was hearing from the publisher I’m working with that they needed some photo updates, and I couldn’t get pse to load for anything on my stoneage PC. So, last night I dropped off my packages at the post office, and marched into to store on a mission: grab the first laptop you see for a decent price. Anything is better than nothing.

I’ll keep dreaming and saving for my MacBook. For now I’m functional, and that’s all that matters. Already I’ve blasted through loads of work in a fraction of the time I had spent of over the past week. I’m sure that the tax info will come together much more quickly as well. All in all, it’s a relief, and you won’t catch me chatting about it here again. Unless I write up a quick post on how I weighed my options and made my decision!

I’ve got some projects on the horizon that I can’t wait to share. If you follow my instagram, you’ll know that I’ve been purging my studio space – what I haven’t shared yet is that there’s a little makeover in the works. I’m planning to simplify, tailor the space a bit, add a fresh coat of paint to the lovely walls and vintage shelves, and hopefully I’ll have things ready when it’s my turn to share my studio creative space like I promised I would next month at JBS Mercantile. {Yikes!}

My studio space is in our main living area, and fully visible from the front door. This means I need a space that’s functional AND pretty. You feel me? I’m pinning ideas for starters over here. And I already have a few things in mind for painting the vintage shelves, and will be looking for great storage ideas. I can’t wait to freshen up the space, continue clearing things out, and make this a space that I can be functional and efficient in. All of the clutter that has built up is sort of driving me cookoo, and I can’t wait to have a pretty, functional space that will help me get lots done. Once things are settled, I’ll be able to get back to building the awesome stuff I have planned for the business this year! Yay!

    […] want to see a peek at what it looked like before I started the update, you can check out this post here. It was such a mess. So overstuffed with – well… stuff. I still have a very small pile […]
