make merry – DIY idea #1 – chevron cowl

December 10, 2014

bluebirdchic make merry diy number 1 - chevron cowl

On this first day of sharing holiday ideas, I wanted to pass along a perfectly delicious and quick pattern for a knitted chevron cowl from Lisa of goodknits. Lisa has a lovely blog where she shares free patterns and ideas for some of the things that she makes. I absolutely love knitting in the round, since there’s no switching and swapping around and I can just buzz around the circle. I typically finish projects fairly quickly, and love how they look and fit.

And in case you’re not the DIYing type, you can purchase the finished goods in her omgknits etsy shop for a super reasonable price. Be sure to stop by and check out her shop of patterns at ravelry, as well! And if you snag the free pattern, I highly recommend giving her something back in return like I did! I know as a maker and a mama, every little bit counts, and I appreciate the time that goes in to creating great patterns. You can find the “donate” button at the bottom of her diy page.

Have a holiday idea you want to share? The “make merry” blog series is all about sharing and linking up holiday ideas from all across the making community! There isn’t too much for rules, just well photographed and well written ideas and designs that we can feature, link and share! You can find submission details here. I can’t wait to hear from you!
