Felt is my friend. Whenever I’m looking for a quick and easy way to create something it tends to be one of the first things that I reach for. It’s easy to work with, and I don’t have to worry about finishing any edges. It’s also a pretty sturdy material to work with {and not too pricey, either! Always a PLUS.}
It was so fun to put these treat pockets together for our boys for Valentine’s Day! I’ll be making a few other treats on the side that won’t fit into the pockets – I’ll have to post photos of the red velvet cake balls, sugar cookie cutouts and rum truffles that I’ll be dipping!
The finished size for these is roughly 5″x7″ – but you could make them any size that works for you!
Cut a piece of felt that’s roughly 7″x10.5″
Fold the edges inward and overlap in the center:
Open the pocket, and keep the folds marked. Cut two hearts out grade school style {fold felt in half and cut, then open} and layer in the middle.
Stitch up the middle of the layered hearts:
Fold. Overlapping the felt in the back:
Here’s a better photo of the overlap:
Stitch along the outer edges:
Stuff with treats:
Ready to surprise the boys for Valentine’s!
this is such an adorable idea, especially for the kids!
So cute!!! You can’t go wrong with red and aqua! ❤
