bluebird chic

camera straps, photography inspiration

welcome to the jungle

July 2, 2014

This is the chaos that is my studio space at the moment! Yesterday was the first full day I’ve had all month to devote to summer school (for the boys) and work (for me). I’m finally getting things together for the new line – it should be available by the end of the week! Eeek! I’m seriously excited to be offering something so brand new in the shop very soon!

Everything has been very on the fly lately – both my husband and I are devoting a lot of time to helping our oldest son overcome the eye condition that he was diagnosed with six months ago now. I’ve finally been able to admit that as hard as I’ve tried to keep everything together, the sheer amount of time that I’m spending on that just takes me away from other things. I’m eternally grateful that I’m in a place where I can be flexible enough to take him to appointments and help  him with daily exercises from his vision therapists. And I know that this is making both him and our family stronger, so I don’t regret a moment! That’s the primary reason we’re doing summer school as well this year – the condition caused him to have very bad headaches and not be able to read at times. As we’re coming to the end of his therapy, I’ll once again be able to devote that time to more creative endeavors, get back to more consistent posting, and share the new things I’ve been quietly working on when I have a moment.

That being said, I’ve shed my share of tears. Tears of frustration because I want to be able to do more, and just can’t. I’ve had ideas for tons of new things and have had to learn to just jot them down in notebooks. Have you been there? Do you know the excitement I’m feeling when I say that I’m finally getting close to being able to do those things again? It’s so uplifting. And freeing. And amazing. Not to mention the absolute RELIEF that we’re experiencing from all of our efforts toward helping our son having a positive effect.

So here’s to that daily cup of afternoon coffee that keeps us going. And selfies in the studio space. And faith instead of worry. Because it’s all going to work out. And life is good.

I’m glad to hear your son’s vision has improved so much. And enjoy that creative time when you finally get it – I’m sure from our perspective, it will be worth our wait!!

[…] It’s something I’ve been thinking about a lot the last week or so after I wrote my post on things taking longer than I’d like right now. […]
