This past week has been one of those adventures in technology that you often prefer not to have. I have put off updating our PC and printer for way too long, and it’s coming back to bite me – I keep trying to pull it through just a little bit longer. I spent several hours on Friday just trying to print my shipping labels. Why not just dash to the store and grab a new printer, you ask? Because we are functioning with one vehicle for just a few more days, too. Then we will be blessedly mobile again, and life will ease into a bit lighter of a routine.
I did dash out on Saturday, though! And now that I have gotten the wireless printer, I’m seriously thinking, “What have I been waiting for?” Then I look back at the business account and think, “ahhh, yes.” It’s always that delicate balance between viable expenses and luxuries. I tend to lean far to the more conservative end (only in this, I assure you), and am working to let go a bit and remember, “You must spend money, to make money.” My time is worth far too much to spend it “piddling”, as my mother so aptly calls it, with a printer (or computer) for hours to get it to work. It makes no sense.
So for the moment, I’m checking out the new laptops that I’m interested in, deliberating slightly, and am hoping that I can take the leap on that purchase, and stop being silly about necessary expenditures for a business. Isn’t it funny how it’s so much easier to purchase bundles of pretty fabric, or papers, or inspiring books and magazines?
In the mean time, I’m adjusting a bit to some mobile blogging. I’m done with fighting with my tech.
I’ve also been a printing fool now that I can print things directly from my iPad and iphone. And yes, I can upload my dslr photos to this, too. I love my iPad. It has been one of the most useful tools I’ve ever purchased – and a good reminder that investing in wise choices for your business helps things flow smoothly and allows you to put your energies into the things that really matter for making your business successful. Even if it means holding off on a few “fun” purchases for a while. I guess it’s sort of like holding off on the pretty curtains to pay to fix the plumbing, right?
Hope your week is going amazing, so far! With no technical difficulties! Haha!

It’s hard to let go! My husband tells me the same thing all the time…I need to focus my time and energy on more important things. Oh well!
